Hi! My name is Jim Painchaud and Welcome to my MESPA ITT Program Portfolio 2010 - 2011 !!! Thanks for visiting!  

Welcome to my Practicum Seminar Class Page.

I provide the course syllabus,

instructor comments and grades,

as well as samples of course assignments.

The focus of this class was to have students

deepen their understanding

of many facets

of a school learning environment

through discussions,

case studies,

simulations and written reflections.

This class was instrumental

in learning how to

handle many different

classroom situations,

addressing student needs

with the use of adaptive

technology tools,

and the sharing of thoughts

and comments with fellow students

through research

and reflection writings.


This course was a year long course

which began last summer

with a Pre-Practicum exercise

where we were able

to begin understanding

and learning

what it means to be

an Instructional Technology
Specialist.


We were then encouraged

to acquire help from

an ITS that would

agree to be our mentor

for a full year.


I was lucky enough

to have the Science and Technology

department head at Ludlow,

where I teach,

to work with all year

in my quest to grow and to

become a more effective teacher.


The majority of the class

was focused on our Practicum

where we were required

to incorporate technology

into our classrooms

for two different age groups

while logging our work and experiences

within our Practicum Log.

Since I teach Science and
Technology
in a computer lab daily

I was able to log

over 500 hours

while serving in this capacity.
